What we do

Four service lines. One Toronto crew.

Bathroom renovations are the headline. Tile and stone are the craft inside the work. Framing makes the layout right. Stone care keeps it looking new for the next decade.

02 · Tile & Stone Installation

Tile & Stone Installation

Tile is the craft. From Carrara marble to handmade Moroccan zellige, we install every kind of tile and stone with the patience the material demands. Surface prep is most of the job — we do it right, so your tile stays flat, even, and grout-line-true for decades. Backsplashes, floors, walls, showers, feature walls.

  • Marble, porcelain, ceramic, mosaic, natural stone
  • Wall, floor, shower, kitchen backsplash, feature walls
  • Schluter waterproofing systems
  • Heated floor (Ditra-Heat / Nuheat) installation
  • Stand-alone tile work or as part of a full reno

03 · Framing

Framing

Framing is the silent quality of a renovation — you don’t see it, but you feel it every time a wall stays true and a tile line stays straight. We frame for renovations, additions and structural changes with engineered consideration for what’s coming next.

  • Bathroom and kitchen framing
  • Basement framing with vapor / moisture barriers
  • Structural changes & load-bearing modifications (with engineer where required)
  • Soffits, niches, bulkheads, custom blocking

04 · Stone Care & Restoration

Stone Care & Restoration

Marble and natural stone need re-sealing every 18–24 months. Grout discolours, caulk pulls away from tubs, hairline chips show up. We come back, re-seal, re-grout, and refresh the work — yours or someone else’s — so it lasts another decade.

  • Marble & natural stone re-sealing (every 18–24 months)
  • Grout deep-cleaning, haze removal, repair
  • Tub/shower caulk replacement
  • Hairline chip and edge repair on stone
  • Annual visits — ask if you’d like one

Specialty work

The smaller jobs we’re known for.

Tile and washroom renos are the headline. These are the niche installs we do alongside them — or as standalone projects when that’s what you need.

  • Heated floors

Ditra-Heat and Nuheat in-floor systems installed under tile or stone. Programmable thermostat. Pure comfort on cold mornings.

  • Steam showers

Curbless walk-ins with sealed-glass steam enclosure, properly vented and waterproofed. Specialty work most contractors won’t touch.

  • Kitchen backsplash

Subway, mosaic, large-format slab — clean cuts at outlets, mitred edges, perfect transitions to counter and cabinets.

  • Fireplace surrounds

Marble, natural stone, or porcelain slab fireplace surrounds — dry-fit, vein-matched, and installed for a clean focal point.

  • Custom mosaic & feature walls

Geometric, hex, herringbone, or fully custom layouts. We design the pattern with you and dry-fit before mortar.

  • Exterior tile & stone

Pool decks, patios, exterior cladding. Frost-rated stone, proper substrate prep for Toronto winters.

How a quote actually works

No allowance traps. No mystery markups.

Most renovation horror stories trace back to a quote that didn’t mean what it said. Hidden markups, vague allowances, prices that move once you’re committed. Blue Tile & Marblequotes don’t work that way.

  1. Step 1

    Materials at receipt cost.

Every receipt is yours to see. We don’t hide what tile, fixtures, vanity, or stone actually cost — there’s no “allowance” trap where the line on your quote bears no relation to what got bought.

  2. Step 2

    A transparent markup.

We add a fixed markup on top of materials. It’s shown on the quote, not buried. You can ask exactly what it is. We’d rather lose a job over an honest number than win one with a hidden one.

  3. Step 3

    Plus our labour.

The labour line is what it costs to actually do the job — demo, framing, waterproofing, tile, finishing, and the trades we coordinate. Quoted up front, line-itemed, not changed on you mid-project.

Paying for the work

How payment actually works.

  • Deposit at signing

A deposit covers material orders. We don’t buy your tile until you’ve approved the quote and the deposit is in. Standard contractor practice — keeps everyone honest.

  • Credit card, e-transfer, or staged payments

Pay the rest on a credit card if speed matters. E-transfer if you’d rather. Or staged payments at agreed milestones. We figure out what works for your project.

Specific deposit and milestone amounts are quoted on a per-project basis — they depend on scope, material lead times, and timeline. Phil walks you through the numbers before you sign.

Why we’re different

The mistakes premium contractors actually fix.

Most renovation horror stories trace back to four or five shortcuts. Here’s what they are and how we avoid them on every job.

Common problem

Tile that lifts, cracks, or grows mould a year later

Cheap or skipped surface prep — uneven substrate, no waterproofing.

Our approach

Laser-checked floor levelling and full Schluter Kerdi membrane on every wet surface. We won't tile a floor we don't trust.

Common problem

Crooked grout lines and lippage you can feel with bare feet

Rushed layout, no dry-fit, no levelling clips on large-format tile.

Our approach

Every job dry-fits before it sets. 2 mm joints. Levelling system on anything 12" or bigger. We measure twice because tile doesn't move twice.

Common problem

Trades blaming each other when the schedule slips

Multiple contractors, no single owner of the timeline.

Our approach

One crew, one schedule, one phone number. Plumbing and electrical are sequenced — not coordinated by the homeowner mid-renovation.

Common problem

"Premium" jobs that look great on day one and fall apart

Cosmetic finish hiding shortcuts in framing, waterproofing, or substrate.

Our approach

Photos of every wet zone before tile goes on. You see exactly what's behind your wall before it's covered up.
